RICK HALE delves through the archives to discover 5 Unexplained UFO sightings in London
In 2008, the Ministry of Defense gave into hundreds of thousands of requests and declassified over 5,000 documents regarding UFO sightings.
Although the overwhelming amount of these documents were heavily redacted by thick black lines, these documents exposed a concerted effort by the government to cover-up their knowledge of unidentified flying objects.
Today, after 11 years of heavy scrutiny, the MoD has released 60,000 pages detailing witness testimony and the government’s response to these reports.
And one thing these documents revealed, London, the capital city of the United Kingdom, appears to be the ground zero for hundreds of sightings of Unexplained aerial phenomena.
Here are five sightings that stood out among the rest that just may convince even the most hardened sceptic.
Just Having A Smoke
One of the most recent sightings of a UFO over London occurred on the night of 1 May 2018.
Around 11.30pm, a man and his wife were standing outside their home having a cigarette when they both noticed something strange in the sky above them.
According to these eyewitnesses, the UFO was black and shaped like a triangle. With four bright lights, one at each corner and one in the center.
These triangular shaped craft are the most commonly reported UFOs across the globe.
When they reported their sighting to MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, they reported a detail that came straight out of a science fiction movie.
They reported the craft seemed to shimmer as if it was disengaging a cloaking device.
Whatever the craft was, MUFON, classified it as an unknown aerial vehicle.
The October Abduction
When the MoD released the UFO documents there were a handful of reports of people claiming to be victims of alien abduction.
Of course many of the reports were unfounded. Nevertheless several stuck out that seemed almost too bizarre not to be true.
In October 1998, a local London man reported that he witnessed a UFO hovering soundlessly over his house.
He described the craft as being cigar shaped with large projectiles on each side like wings.
He further described two very bright lights, one at each end that flashed.
He reported that he believed he was abducted because he gained an hour he could not account for.
Missing time is a common thing reported by alien abductees, or experiencers as they prefer to be called.
When the MoD wrote the man back, their explanation was more absurd than what the man reported.
They stated he had not seen a UFO. And as for the missing time, well he just turned all his clocks an hour ahead and forgot about it.
Beaming Down
Many sightings are ignored or dismissed because of a science fiction element that makes them sound unlikely. This is one of them.
According to the MoD’s national UFO archives, a man driving down Uxbridge High Street in July 1996, reported a UFO with bright lights making a humming noise.
This may seem strange in and of itself, but it’s what happened next that made the eyewitness question whether or not he had gone mad.
The man reported that a beam of light shot out of the craft and a man came down out of the beam.
The eyewitnesses said that whoever this man was appeared completely human and walked down the street as if nothing happened.
According to a declassified document, 5 other people witnessed the event and reported it within days of each other.
Stanmore Lights
On 26 April 1984, police responded to calls of strange lights in the sky made by several residents in Stanmore.
When they arrived, they immediately blocked off the area and took pictures of the object as it hovered soundlessly and flashed lights that went from pink to yellow to blue.
According to police reports, one officer described it as circular with a dome on the top and bottom.
When the craft moved away the police gave chase down the M1, losing it as it sped off at an unimaginable speed.
Hounslow Mass Sighting
In 2008, residents of Hounslow were terrified one night when an unexplained rumbling noise drove them out of their homes.
They expected to see something on fire as the noise sounded like a series of explosions. What they saw shook them to the core.
When they looked up, their eyes were met by a strange craft that brightly flashed blue and grey lights.
Residents assumed they were looking at a spotlight until they realised the lights were attached to a craft.
When the MoD was contacted by the people who witnessed the craft, the Ministry denied having anything in the air that night.
Nor were they engaging in any military operations. Whatever these people had seen was probably not of this world.
Dozens of sightings of unidentified flying objects are made each year in the capital city.
Perhaps, some alien intelligence is planning to reveal themselves in London. Or, all these sightings are nothing more than mistakes. You can make your own judgement.
